When a new user is created, you can choose to allow or restrict the things that they can do within the program.

Privileges:

· Has control over user accounts - needed to add and edit users and privileges.
· Can add rows - needed to add new tags, create new worksheets, and to copy and paste rows.
· Can remove rows - needed to delete rows and worksheets.
· Can change cell contents - needed to edit cells.
· Can change own account information - needed to modify the signed-in user's privileges.

Require sign in

Control whether or not sign-in is required when the program starts up. If there are multiple users, it is recommended that this option is set so that inventory scans can record the user id of the person doing the scan.

Check for invalid system time

The system clock on the reader stops when both the main battery and an internal backup battery run out. (The backup battery is automatically recharged from the main battery and it can run on its own to maintain the system clock for about 28 hours). When the system clock stops, it is reset to a date in 2007 when the reader is next powered up with a charged battery.

By default, StockCheck will check for this and stop the program from running if the system time is invalid since it may not make sense to timestamp the scans with invalid times.

Reopen the last file

Select this option to reopen the last file that was used.

Worksheets Tab

Default columns

Enter the column names that you would like to have automatically created for you when you create a new worksheet.

You can choose to have additional columns for your own use if you like.

You can also omit the default ones suggested. The RFID Tag column should be present, but every other column is optional. If StockCheck doesn't find the User Id column for example, it will just skip recording the user id information.

Separate the column names with semi-colons (";").

Add default columns to new worksheets

If this option is set, the default columns will be added to new worksheets that are created within StockCheck (through the Edit menu à New Worksheet).

Add default columns if they are missing

If this option is set, worksheets in files that are opened that don't already have at least the "RFID Tag" column will trigger the addition of the default columns at the top left of the worksheet (i.e. from cell A1).

Add new tags

If this option is set, tags that are scanned and new to the current Excel file will be added to the current worksheet.

This option must be set when you want to use the CS101 to provision new tags and associate them with assets as shown in the Quick Start Tutorial. New tags will be ignored and not be added otherwise.

The option can be turned off if you are working with a file that has already been set up, and you are only doing a stock take. New tags will then be ignored.

Column Headers

You have control over the names of the columns that StockCheck will use when scanning.

· RFID Tag - this column will be used to enter new RFID Electronic Product Codes (EPCs), as well as to mark ones that is has seen again (with a green indicator).

· Visible Id - if an RFID tag is marked with a human-readable ID or a barcode, that information can be stored in this column.

· Last Scan - the scan time for the tag will be stored in this column.

· User Id - the current user's ID will be stored in this column.

Barcodes Tab

Prefs Barcodes

Scan barcodes into the Visible Id column

Set this option to have scanned barcodes automatically entered into the Visible Id column.

Scan barcodes into the active cell

Set this option to have scanned barcodes entered into the active cell.

If this option is selected, the Tools menu à Read Barcode menu item will be disabled if the active cell is not writeable. This can happen if the active cell is on one of these columns: Rfid Tag, Last Scan, and Used Id.
